The Minister of Health officially spoke to millions of Romanians from all over the country about one of the biggest problems they face in their daily lives, the climate effects generated by pollution, this being, of course, a global problem that influences life of billions of people.
The Minister of Health also talks about road infrastructure problems in Romania, mainly about the lack of a shared public transport that would offer Romanians the real solutions they need to give up traveling by car inside the cities at any time.
"No matter how good we are, no matter how much we reduce, there are two big global polluters, I mean China, the USA, which must also be part of this coalition for the recovery, or for the healing of the planet from the consequences of the accumulation of carbon dioxide, or other pollutants in the atmosphere.
Those of my generation went to the sea by train, there was no problem, it was customary to go to the sea by train, not by car, many of our activities, and the daily ones, were carried out by means of public transport, but, as the offer in this area decreased, obviously as an alternative to the use of the car, or the use of the car by one or only two people, it replaced the means of public transport.
That's why I was telling you that there must be a public policy that encourages and offers alternatives, rather than offering punitive conditions, people adapt, if, why when we travel abroad, we choose to go by train or walk with a means of public transport and when we are in Romania we choose this option less.
Precisely because there are other conditions and we must be aware of this, assume it, and try to do it in such a way that within a reasonable time interval, because the expectation to solve everything in a year from days is not reasonable, and we must have a time interval in which things can change.
Behavior is the one that influences many human activities, one of them influences road safety, because, obviously, as we relate to several factors, as we relate to the legislation in force, as we respect it, and education, because behavior is related to education." A affirm the official.
