Sorin Grindeanu, the Minister of Transport, announces new works and contracts signed for new roads and highways in Romania, the authorities in our country doing their best to give Romanians the opportunity to enjoy a road infrastructure worthy of 2022.

Sorin Grindeanu has recently announced many infrastructure projects for our country, some in collaboration with Romania's neighboring countries, so that in the coming years we should experience a radical improvement of the infrastructure.

"The works on the construction site of the Nușfalău - Suplacu de Barcău Section (Transilvania Highway) have reached a physical stage of 28%. The Turkish builder was forced to increase the mobilization to recover the delays recorded so far (20% compared to the schedule established in the contract). Currently, 462 workers (with 173 machines) are working, in two shifts, on the embankments and on the bridge and passage structures.

Work on the 13,55 km began in February 2021 and, according to the assumed schedule, should be completed in the first part of next year. The contract for design and execution, worth over 76 million euros (without VAT) was signed in September 2020 and is financed by POIM 2014-2020. We will use all the money allocated to us through POIM, before the end of 2023! We have already asked the European Commission to redirect us other sums that others have not spent.

Yesterday's discussions with the authorities of the United Arab Emirates produce the first results! The Emirati side has already contacted the representatives of the "Traian Vuia" Airport in Timișoara and those of the Port of Constanța to start negotiations on investments in the cargo area. Today we signed the Agreement between Romania and Serbia for establishing the connection of the Timișoara-Moravița Highway with the Belgrade-Vatin high-speed road. The Timișoara-Moravița highway (A9) will have a length of over 73 km, and its construction will be financed from European funds.

The Timișoara-Moravița highway is provided for in the General Master Plan for Transport and in the Investment Plan for the Development of Transport Infrastructure 2020-2030. The Feasibility Study will be completed in the fall of this year, which allows us to quickly enter the tender preparation phase for the design and execution of the highway.

The agreement signed today, in Timișoara, is extremely important for the establishment of a definite connection in the border area of the high-speed infrastructure of the two states. The Timișoara – Moravița highway (A9) will provide a very important link between western Romania and Serbia, but also with the road network in the Western Balkans and southern Europe." A announced the minister.
