Coronavirus Romania INCREASES The Number of New Daily Cases Last Week

The coronavirus in Romania is still present, and in the last week there was an increase in the daily average of new cases of infection among people, the new report published by the authorities confirming without a doubt that the situation is starting to become serious again, unfortunately.

The coronavirus generated an average of 571 new cases of infection in the last week in Romania, a total of 3.974 being registered between June 20 - 26, 2022, increasing compared to the average of almost 400 new daily cases, which were registered in the previous week .

Europe is facing a sixth wave of infections generated by the Coronavirus, and the effects are beginning to be felt including in Romania, where the number of new cases per week has increased, even if the authorities no longer publish daily information on the seriousness of the situation.

The coronavirus will continue to spread in Romania in the absence of preventive measures, which could be reimposed, as is being discussed in other European countries.

"Between June 20-26, 2022, 3.974 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) were registered. 547 of the new cases in the last week are of reinfected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection.

Week 20 - 26 June 2022 Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following the retesting of patients who were already positive, 262 people were reconfirmed positive. In specialized health units, the number of people hospitalized in wards with COVID-19 is currently 638.

Also, 58 people are hospitalized at ATI. Of the 58 patients admitted to ATI, 41 are unvaccinated. Out of the total of currently admitted patients, 78 are minors, 77 being admitted to wards and 1 to ATI. 

Until today, 65.739 people diagnosed with Sars-CoV-2 infection have died. Between 20.06.2022 (10:00) and 26.06.2022 (10:00) 13 deaths (7 men and 6
women).

The deaths were registered: 1 in the age category 40-49 years, 1 in the age category 50-59 years, 2 in age category 60-69 years, 4 in the age category 70-79 years and 5 in the category over 80 years. All registered deaths are of patients who had comorbidities."
