WHO Monitors the Evolution of Monkey Pox Cases Continued

WHO spoke at a conference about the global situation regarding monkey pox, and this is due to the fact that the virus is spreading throughout the world, the number of new cases being slightly increasing during this period, and the international organization recommends people to remain vigilant in what regarding the possibility of getting infected.

The evolution of the situation of new cases of monkeypox infection is currently being monitored by the WHO in order to better understand how it is transmitted, how contagious it is, but also how vigilant people must be when it comes to protection against infection, even if theoretically the virus is more difficult to transmit than the Coronavirus, for example.

A few days ago, a WHO emergency committee was convened for the first time to discuss the situation regarding the transmission of monkey pox, considering that the global risk is moderate, especially because there is a higher number of cases in countries where normally there were no cases generated by this virus.

However, the WHO says that there is no risk of declaring a global epidemic, and this is because of the method of spreading the virus, but nevertheless, a lot of attention is required from the countries where cases are registered, along with the testing of people who have symptoms, identification of possible contacts and their isolation.
