DACIA Duster 2024 is, as you already know very well, in full development at DACIA with a view to launching it on markets around the world during the next year, but in the meantime various information about the car appears. The most recent of them, coming from the press in France, suggest that the Duster 2024 is going to be launched with a new all-wheel drive system compared to what we have received so far from the company.

DACIA does not want to give up all-wheel drive for its SUVs, even if its implementation would be more difficult in them because of the CMF-B platform, but it still wants to offer it, but in a unique way. I say it is unique because we are talking about the integration of an electric motor in Duster 2024, it will be attached to the rear axle, to provide traction in certain situations, so it is not expected that it will work permanently while driving.

According to the information so far, it is possible for the new SUV to use that electric motor for all-wheel drive only in situations where the car loses grip, or when it is used on rough terrain. Practically, Duster 2024 becomes a hybrid car by integrating an electric motor, and the big question is whether this version will be launched from the very beginning, or will come later, at a date that no one knows yet.

DACIA must give up internal combustion engines from 2025, based on a decision taken just yesterday by the European Commission, so by then it must have a fully electric range of cars. The integration of hybridization in Duster 2024 will be a first step in this direction, but more will be needed for the entire range of cars that are sold by the Romanian company at the moment, especially in terms of cost control.

We know that the new Romanian SUV model will be launched in the fall of 2023, but it could arrive in stores much later, most likely only somewhere around 2024.
