Vladimir Putin surprised a lot of people when he decided to give an order temporarily stopping the attacks from Ukraine in the Donbas area, in a statement the Russian president said that the soldiers should take an operational break to increase their attack capabilities in seeing the next battles that will take place.
The Institute for the Study of War, in Washington USA, stated that Russia now intends to focus its attention on Donetsk because it has achieved the objective of conquering Luhansk, and Vladimir Putin probably intends to rest his soldiers in order to conquer that region more quickly.
However, Vladimir Putin's decision should not be seen as a long-term cessation of hostilities in Ukraine, and this is because Russia still does not fully control the Donbas region, but the Russian president's ambitions are not limited only to this region, he intends to conquer and others that are located mainly on the border with Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
It is unlikely that the decision to restart attacks against Ukraine will be announced by Vladimir Putin, as happened with this decision to suspend operations, but the Ukrainian army remains vigilant regarding the movements of Russian troops inside the country , to repel as many of the attacks as possible.
Putin presented the capture of Lysychansk and Luhansk Oblast as a major victory for Russian forces in Ukraine and said that the Russian units that participated in the battle for Lysychansk should rest to increase their combat capabilities.
