Breeze 22 Romanian Naval Forces Participate in New International Exercises

The Romanian Naval Forces are currently participating in the multinational exercise Breeze 22, conducted by the Bulgarian Naval Forces in the port of Burgas and in the international waters of the Black Sea, with the participation of multiple NATO member countries, and you can find more details below.

"The Romanian Naval Forces 🇷🇴 participate with three military ships, between July 14-25, in the multinational exercise "Breeze 22", organized and led by the Bulgarian Naval Forces.

It takes place in the territorial waters of Bulgaria, in the international waters of the Black Sea and in the port of Burgas, and over 300 military sailors will be present from the Romanian Naval Forces.

This year's edition of the exercise features naval and air capabilities as well as staff officers from Albania, Belgium, France, Georgia, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Turkey and the United States of America.

The main objective of the multinational exercise "Breeze 22" is to strengthen the interoperability, at the tactical level, between naval personnel and participating units by practicing the operational procedures of conventional and unconventional warfare and combating asymmetric threats.

The fictitious scenario of the exercise is adapted to the new geostrategic challenges and envisages the response of a multinational force to a geopolitical crisis arising in the region. It encompasses actions in all combat environments, including against hybrid threats, to strengthen NATO's eastern border defense capability.

Through the missions executed, the soldiers of the Romanian Naval Forces actively contribute to the implementation of Romania's security policy and to the fulfillment of the objectives of the National Security Strategy."
