CAREFUL! A NEW TYPE OF ONLINE FRAUD!

The past few days, we have been alerted to the existence of several cases of online fraud, by sending messages by email, in which certain people would have assigned themselves the identity of workers with management positions within some law enforcement structures (Europol, Interpol, FBI or #Romanian Police).

The injured persons were informed that they are the subject of alleged legal proceedings, as a result of accessing some sites, in which actions of an explicit sexual nature, with minors, are presented.

Thus, they were asked for money, in order not to be arrested.

Internationally, this type of fraud is known as "government impersonation scams".

Several law enforcement agencies sent public messages to inform the population.

Therefore, in the situation where you receive such emails, unsolicited, we recommend that you DO NOT REPLY, DO NOT ACCESS any links or attachments and contact the nearest police unit or online, on the petition portal of the Romanian Police.

Please share this message!

Take care of yourself and the vulnerable people around you!
