The coronavirus continues to infect a large number of Romanians throughout the country during this period, with the Romanian authorities confirming thousands of new daily infections at the level of all counties, which continues to show us that the situation remains serious, even if the number of new cases is decreasing .
The coronavirus has entered a downward trend for two weeks already, the basal reproduction rate falling below the value of 1 already, so a continuous decrease in the number of new cases is expected as we approach September, the expectations being that the situation will improve before starting school and college.
Romania is going through a better period of the 6th wave of the Coronavirus pandemic, but the large number of people who traveled outside the country, or even inside, and came into contact with other large numbers of people, could still generate an increase in infections during the following weeks throughout the country.
"In the last 24 hours, 5.485 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, with 2.015 less than the previous day. 1.019 of the new cases in 24 hours are of reinfected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection.
Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 246 people were reconfirmed positive.
In specialized health units, the number of people hospitalized in wards with COVID-19 is 3.542, 159 less than the previous day. Also, 269 people are hospitalized at ATI, 5 less than the previous day. Of the 269 patients admitted to ATI, 235 are unvaccinated.
