Denmark wants to limit the issuance of visas for Russians who want to enter its country, and to have by default access to all countries that are part of the Schengen area, supporting a request made by Ukraine and already implemented by some countries from the east of the European Union, others will soon apply it.
Denmark will initially wait for a decision from the European Commission vis-à-vis the limitation of issuing visas for Russian citizens, but in the absence of a measure taken at the European level, the country's foreign minister stated that it will impose a measure of this kind, without completely prohibiting the issuance of visas, but only limiting, probably, only to the issuance of those for humanitarian reasons.
"Russian tourists should not be allowed to vacation in Europe. Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod hopes that there is full support for this message among EU member states. If it cannot be done with a joint solution, from the Danish side we will analyze the possibility of introducing some restrictions that will further reduce the number of Russian tourist visas, says Jeppe Kofod."
⚡️Denmark ready to limit entry of Russian tourists regardless of EU decision.
In comments to Danish news Ritzau, Danish Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod called it a "disgrace" Russian tourists can sunbathe in Europe while Ukrainian cities are being "bombed beyond recognition."
