Coronavirus Romania New Number of New Cases August 22, 2022

The coronavirus remains in community transmission in Romania, and this is because we are talking about still large numbers of new cases confirmed every day among Romanians, which of course generates enough reasons for concern among many people, even if the news is still good

The transmission rates of the Coronavirus in Romania have decreased in recent weeks, as have the daily numbers of new cases, which is excellent news for everyone, and this is because towards the end of the month we should see a wave 6 that generates more few cases in the whole country among Romanians.

Romania should enter the fall with a much better situation in terms of new cases of the Coronavirus, or at least that is what the authorities convey before school starts, the concern of many being that the beginning of the new school year could bring a rapid increase in the number of infections among people.

"In the last 24 hours, 2.599 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, 534 more than the previous day. 462 of the new cases in 24 hours are of reinfected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection.

Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 154 people were reconfirmed positive.

In specialized health units, the number of people hospitalized in wards with COVID-19 is 3.580, 165 more than the previous day. Also, 253 people are hospitalized at ATI, 15 less than the previous day. Of the 253 patients admitted to ATI, 215 are unvaccinated.

Out of the total number of hospitalized patients, 467 are minors, 461 being hospitalized in wards, 43 more than the previous day and 6 in ATI, the same as the previous day."
