The WHO says that there have been reported cases, so far few, in which people who were cured of monkeypox infection, or only vaccinated, were still infected by the virus, the effectiveness of the vaccines not being known at the moment because there would be no studies done in this sense yet.
The WHO says that these cases are very low at the moment, so more studies are needed to see exactly what the effectiveness of the existing vaccines is, but in the meantime, great caution is recommended, including for those who have been vaccinated, and this because there is a chance that they will get infected with monkey pox.
The WHO is trying to help people protect themselves against a possible infection caused by monkey pox, and this is because the number of new cases is on the rise during this period, with the organization's experts stating that there is no 100% safe measure of protection beyond total avoidance of people who have signs of infection, or who could be infected.
