IMPORTANT Announcement of the Minister of Education Last Minute Measures Schools

The Minister of Education made two very important announcements before the 2022-2023 school year begins in Romania, millions of students are expected in the schools, and Sorin Cimpeanu talks about the fact that school will start this year without restrictions, under normal conditions.

The Minister of Education also talks below about a first for Bucharest, where subscriptions for public transport that are dedicated to the educational system will be issued in a more efficient way by digitizing the process, with details below.

On Monday, September 5, millions of children and young people will enter the gates of kindergartens, schools and high schools in Romania. After two years of restrictions, this time the joy of the first day of school will once again be shared by parents and grandparents. I am convinced that all principals of educational institutions understand the importance of openness to the community and the involvement of the family in the education of children and young people, from the first day of school.

Issuance of valid subscriptions in local public road transport (provided by Societatea de Transport Bucureşti STB SA) for pupils and students enrolled in educational units and higher education institutions in the Municipality of Bucharest and Ilfov County will be made more efficient by digitizing the mechanisms of this process.

It is an important step in the direction of digitizing the services offered to the direct beneficiaries of education, achieved following the recent collaboration protocol signed by the Ministry of Education and the Bucharest Transport Society (STB SA). Thus, the Ministry of Education will facilitate STB SA's access to the IT platforms they manage, the Romanian Integrated Education System (SIIIR) and the Single Matriculation Register (RMU), so as to allow, under IT security conditions, automatic verification and validation as a pupil/student enrolled in schools/universities in the Capital and in Ilfov county.

More precisely, Societatea de Transport Bucureşti STB SA will develop an application that will allow obtaining free metropolitan passes for pupils/students, during the school/university year, on all surface public transport lines in the Bucharest - Ilfov Region, regardless of the operator transport, according to the legislation in force.

The exchange of information will be carried out ensuring the protection of personal data, according to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46 /CE (General Data Protection Regulation), adopted by the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union. declared Sorin Cimpeanu.
