The Minister of Transport announced today that he will continue the construction of highways in Moldova, so that other contracts were signed on the basis of which sections 1 and 4 of the A7 Highway, the Buzau-Focsani component, will be built, with a total length of 15.54 kilometers .
The Minister of Transport talks below about what this project entails, but also about the fact that including the city of Buzau will be connected to the A7 Motorway, of Moldova, and this is because it was necessary for this to happen in order for there to be a connection between this city and the north of the country, including Bucharest.
"The construction of two more sections of the A7 (Moldova Motorway) becomes possible from today! The contracts for the construction of sections 1 and 4 (15,54 km) of the Buzău-Focșani Motorway (82,44 km) were signed in Focșani, as well as the financing contract through PNRR.
The Romanian builder who was awarded both execution contracts, with a total value of 1,45 billion lei (without VAT), must complete the works in 2024 (20 months). On section 1 (Buzău – Vadu Pașii), with a length of 4,6 km and a value of 689,28 million lei (without VAT), the contractor will also build 4 bridges, passages and viaducts and a road junction.
For the sum of 763,72 million lei (without VAT), the same contractor will build the 10,94 km of section 4 (Mândrești Munteni – Focșani Nord), including 7 bridges, passages and viaducts as well as two road junctions. In order to secure the money needed for the construction, we also signed the financing contract from non-refundable European funds (PNRR) today in Focșani.
The financing of the construction of the 4 sections is thus ensured, in a total amount of 4,9 billion lei (without VAT), as the contracts for the execution of the works are signed. The amount allocated to the construction of sections 1 and 4 through this contract is 1,45 billion lei (without VAT), and the money necessary for the construction of sections 2 and 3 will be allocated through acts subsequent to the contract signed today.
The municipality of Buzau will be connected with the A7 highway! The connecting road between the Moldovei Highway and the Municipality will be built in partnership with the local authorities! CNAIR and Buzău City Hall signed today a Collaboration Protocol for the elaboration of the Feasibility Study necessary for the construction of three sections of this road."
