Alexandru Rafila Important LAST MOMENT Message Targets All Romanians

Alexandru Rafila has officially published an announcement targeting Romanians from the whole country at the moment, and this is because we are talking about the decision taken to be present at the 72nd meeting of the Regional Committee of the World Health Organization for Europe, he taking place in Israel.

"During September 12-14, the 72nd meeting of the Regional Committee of the World Health Organization (WHO) for Europe took place in Tel Aviv (Israel), which brings together the representatives of the 53 member states of the region. The numerous and important themes of this meeting are represented by: the adoption of sectoral strategies and the development of collaboration to ensure access to health services for people with disabilities and access to innovative medicines.

The 2023-2030 health digitization strategy, the development of the 2022-2027 framework, regarding the understanding of behaviors and cultural elements that influence health, the preparation of health systems in case of health emergencies, the reduction and elimination of tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS and viral hepatitis as public health issues.

The meeting was honored at the opening by the President of the State of Israel, Isaac Herzog, and representatives of the executive leadership of the WHO. The Romanian delegation, which includes the Minister of Health, Prof. univ. dr. Alexandru Rafila, presidential adviser Univ. Conf. Dr. Diana Păun, Secretary of State in the Ministry of Health, Univ. Conf. Dr. Adriana Pistol, Mircea Timofte, President of the Order of Medical Assistants, representatives of the Romanian Embassy in Israel, had several interventions in the plenary meeting and in the parallel sessions.

The Romanian Minister of Health proposed the establishment of a WHO regional center of excellence in the field of behaviors and cultural elements that influence health, expressing Romania's readiness to host it.

The shortage of qualified human resources in the health sector represents a problem at the level of the entire region, and Prof. Alexandru Rafila's participation in the session dedicated to this issue was appreciated and led to the adoption of a concrete agenda and an action plan that could be discussed in the first half of next year in Bucharest, in a meeting attended by all the representatives of the member states of WHO Europe. Today, September 14 this year, Univ. Conf. Dr. Adriana Pistol was elected as a member of the Standing Committee of WHO Europe."
