Minister of Health LAST TIME Official Announcement Strong Impact National Level

Today the Minister of Health made an extremely important announcement, an important announcement with national impact for millions of Romanians throughout the country, and this because he officially revealed the national strategy for combating cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases in Romania.

The Minister of Health explains below what this strategy means, which was officially announced in Cluj-Napoca by the authorities in our country, and it will be applied at the national level for Romanians after implementation in medical units, with the aim of reducing the substantial impact of these diseases.

"This week, university professor Dr. Alexandru Rafila announced in Cluj-Napoca the initiation of the "National Strategy for Combating Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Diseases" (SNBCC). The project initiated under the auspices of the Ministry of Health, the Romanian Academy, the Presidential Administration and the Romanian Parliament will be developed by experts from the professional societies of cardiology, neurology, neurosurgery, physical medicine and medical rehabilitation, in collaboration with international societies (World Stroke Organization , World Federation for Neurorehabilitation, European Academy of Neurology, European Stroke Organization, European Federation of Neurorehabilitation Societies).

The integration of the contributions of the expert teams will be carried out by Prof. Univ. Dr. Dragoș Vinereanu and Prof. Univ. Dr. Dafin F. Mureșanu, corresponding members of the Romanian Academy. "Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, unfortunately, threaten the lives of our fellow citizens every day. We need a strategy and its rapid application in order to be as effective as possible in the activity of prevention and treatment of these diseases. The strategy will be a key tool to increase the impact of our fight against these diseases, namely to increase patients' access to highly qualified health services.

I am aware that it is a long and difficult road, but it is our duty to travel it as people dedicated to health!", said Alexandru Rafila. In Romania, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases are the main causes of death and disability. Due to the aging of the population and the increase in behavioral risk factors, a significant increase in the incidence of these diseases is predicted in the next decade.

The purpose of the development and adoption of SNBCC is to improve the health status of the Romanian population, by implementing a comprehensive reform plan in the field of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, which will be part of the "National Health Strategy 2022-2027". The guiding principles of SNCBCC are

Assessment of the spread and impact of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases among the Romanian population and the development of prevention programs; the development of specialized human resources in the field of interventional neurology; expanding the national network of immediate intervention centers in case of stroke; increasing access to neurological recovery services nationally. The strategy will bring together and integrate the recommendations into a framework document for reform in this area at the national level."
