Coronavirus Romania New Number of New Cases September 25, 2022

The coronavirus is present in Romania and all of Europe at the moment, and this is because the number of new cases registered both in our country and in various countries on the European continent continues to remain at a high level.

Romania is still in a good situation from the point of view of the pandemic, with a small number of new cases registered daily throughout the country, based on a small number of daily tests, so that at this moment the 7th wave seems to be very far away.

However, the coronavirus is starting to generate the preamble of a wave 7 of infections in other countries in Europe, and this is because there are no more decreases in the number of new cases, but on the contrary, some countries are experiencing slight increases in the number of daily cases.

In the last 24 hours, 439 new cases of people infected with SARS - CoV - 2 (COVID - 19) were registered, with 620 less than the previous day.

85 of the new cases in 24 hours are of reinfected patients who tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection.

Distinct from the newly confirmed cases, following retesting of patients who were already positive, 33 people were reconfirmed positive.

In specialized health units, the number of people hospitalized in wards with COVID-19 is 1.357, 41 more than the previous day. Also, 129 people are hospitalized at ATI, 6 more than the previous day. Of the 129 patients admitted to ATI, 117 are unvaccinated.

Of the total admitted patients, 124 are minors, 123 being admitted to wards, with 3 more compared to the previous day and 1 to ATI, with 1 less than the previous day.

Until today, 66.978 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died.

In the interval 24.09.2022 (10:00) – 25.09.2022 (10:00) 6 deaths (5 men and 1 woman) were reported by the INSP, with no deaths reported before the reference interval.

Of the 6 deaths, 2 were registered in the age category 60-69 years, 2 in the age category 70-79 years and 2 in the age category over 80 years.

All deceased patients had comorbidities and none of them were vaccinated.

In the last 24 hours, 1.615 RT-PCR tests (771 based on case definition and medical protocol and 844 on request) and 4.368 rapid antigen tests were performed. Until this date, at the national level, 13.494.237 RT-PCR tests and 11.534.308 rapid antigen tests have been processed.
