The Marines of the 307th Marine Infantry Regiment carried out, between September 19-23, the joint multinational exercise "Heracleea 22", an extensive fluvial field training exercise, in the Mahmudia district of the Danube Delta.

During the exercise, more than 300 soldiers belonging to the 307th Marine Infantry Regiment, the 67th Artillery Carrier Division, the 88th River Star Division, the 22nd Infantry Battalion "Romanati", the 32nd Research-Surveillance Battalion "Mircea", a platoon of infantry from the partners were engaged French and an American platoon from the 101st Airborne Division.

The exercise, planned and coordinated by the marine infantrymen, took place in three environments of action, naval, land and air, so that the participating equipment consisted of two naval warships (a monitor and a river star), 25 light motor-propelled assault craft , 3 Piranha armored personnel carriers, 7 amphibious armored reconnaissance vehicles, 4 Black Hawk helicopters, 20 trucks, 10 special vehicles and logistic support equipment.

According to the tactical scenario, the military actions aimed to secure and defend critical infrastructure objectives against enemy airborne forces and reconnaissance-diversion groups supported by local paramilitary forces. During the exercise, the regiment deployed most of the forces, they being integrated with the international infantry forces, the key element being given by the common, combined, synchronized and coherent action, based on the cohesion of the military at the assembled level.
