The European Commission Announces New Impact Sanctions Against Russia

The European Commission announced today a new package of sanctions against Russia, and according to President Ursula Von der Leyen, their impact will be significant, more precisely of no less than 7 billion euros for the Russian economy, which has been seriously tried by the losses of now.

The European Commission continues the series of sanctions imposed on Russia because, despite all the efforts so far, it seems that there are still not enough measures imposed against the Russians, which leads to the continuation of the conflict in Ukraine without stopping, unfortunately for millions of people.

"Today, we propose a new package of impact sanctions against Russia. We do not accept fake referendums and any kind of annexation in Ukraine. We are determined to make the Kremlin pay for this further escalation

Russia uses the profits from the sale of fossil fuels to finance its war. Today we are laying the legal groundwork for an oil price cap. It will help reduce Russian revenues and keep global energy markets stable.

The new sanctions will hit Russia's economy even harder, depriving it of an additional 7 billion euros in revenue. We are also proposing additional bans on the provision of services to Russia and banning EU citizens from participating in the management bodies of Russian state-owned enterprises.”
