"Today I participated in the Economic Forum Romania - USA: from Security to Prosperity, in the dialogue session with investors with the theme: "Strengthening economic relations between Romania and the USA".

Dialogue partners were David Muniz Chargé d'Affaires, colleagues from the Government Florin Spătaru - Minister of Economy, Adrian Câciu Minister of Finance, Sebastian Burduja - Minister of Research, Innovation and Digitization, Alexandru Rafila Minister of Health, and from the private sector Josephine Payne - President , Ford Romania, Marta Branska – CEO, IBM, Mihai Brana – CEO, Honeywell, Alina Negru – General Manager, Emerson, Alexandra Munteanu – CEO GE Healthcare and Vasile Varvaroi CEO, Cargill. Also present were Don Graves - Deputy Secretary, US Department of Commerce) and Jose W. Fernandez - Under Secretary for Economic Development, Energy and Environment, US State Department, with whom I had working meetings in the US.

I conveyed that I encourage the increase in the volume of investments by American companies in Romania, in the field of energy. We already have a consolidated strategic partnership in this area, through which we will jointly make massive investments in the development of the civilian nuclear program, to ensure our energy independence and security. Through cooperation and investment we will succeed in achieving this goal.

At the same time, I conveyed that I encourage Romanian companies to access funds to produce and use renewable energy, for self-consumption, and in this process we will provide them with the necessary support. Because in this way the costs will decrease, and the industry becomes more competitive.

Today I had a working meeting with EIB Vice President Christian Kettel Thomsen, who is in Romania. We continued the discussions on the collaboration we have in the field of energy. Moreover, we even received assurances that we will continue to have the necessary support for the continuation of financing projects from the Modernization Fund, plus other important projects that we carry out at the Ministry of Energy."
