"The Ministry of Health is preparing projects of over 200 million euros for the digitization of hospitals and subordinate institutions, through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan of Romania.

Today, October 5, 2022, the Minister of Health, prof. dr. Alexandru Rafila, sent all the hospitals in Romania a digital form for the assessment of the IT infrastructure and the needs in the field, in order to optimize the digitization programs in accordance with the real needs in the hospitals.

"Important projects in the field of health must be carried out in close connection with the professionals working in hospitals in Romania, to identify real needs and adapt the guidelines and funding methodologies according to the particularities of the system," said the Minister of Health.

These investments aim to contribute directly to the improvement of the quality of medical services, better administration and management of health services, respectively the replacement, where appropriate, of the IT infrastructure of public hospitals in Romania, but also the evolution towards new data systems and digital infrastructure.

Also, the development of new IT modules is aimed at serving the activity of the Ministry of Health and its subordinate institutions. Thus, a digitization process will be started, through the purchase and installation of IT equipment, communication equipment and related equipment, licenses, development of related IT applications, but also through the training of technical staff at the local level."
