The European Union wants to Ceiling the Price of Russian Oil

The European Union is close to imposing a price cap on Russian oil, as part of a new round of sanctions that will hit the economy of the Russian Federation extremely hard, something that of course no longer comes as a surprise, considering the recent actions undertaken by the country.

The European Union has informally reached an agreement on a price cap for Russian oil, and today there are rumors that Russia and OPEC intend to cut oil production, which could lead to price increases, all as a possible response to the decisions that Europe takes.

"The EU agrees on Russia's oil price ceiling in the new sanctions plan. EU ambassadors have reached an outline agreement on new sanctions against Russia that will include a price cap on Russian oil sales, Politico reports, citing seven European diplomats.

The sanctions package was proposed by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen last week after Russian dictator Vladimir Putin threatened to use nuclear weapons and mobilized 300.000 reservists."
