The Government of Romania Announces the Filling of Natural Gas Deposits up to 90%

The Romanian government has officially announced that Romania has managed to fill up to 90% of the natural gas deposits up to now, and according to the authorities, there are 2.774 billion cubic meters stored out of a total capacity of 3.07 billion.

The European Union asked the countries in the community space to fill up to 80% of the total storage capacity of natural gas deposits, and this should ensure that we will have a much quieter winter in terms of consumption of natural gas.

Gas deposits in Romania have exceeded, today, the filling rate of 90 percent. We have 477 million cubic meters of gas already stored in excess of last year, i.e. 2,774 billion cubic meters of the total storage capacity of 3,07 billion.

Romanians and our economy will have at their disposal the entire amount of gas needed to get through this winter well, no matter what the weather will be like. Of the 55 million cubic meters required for an average daily winter consumption, almost half is currently produced domestically, and the difference is covered by the quantities in storage. Assessments show that there is absolutely no problem in the gas supply for the population, industry, business environment.

We asked the responsible institutions to continue the intense pace of gas storage and to manage very carefully the quantities needed to get through this winter well.

With capped gas prices for Romanians and enough gas for the functioning of the economy, the Government will continue to actively support both citizens and our industries.
