The Minister of Defense Sends New Official Information to Romanians Today

The Minister of Defense has published an information of interest for Romanians throughout the country, one that many people should know about at the moment, and this is because he has made the decision to make an official visit to Georgia in the next 2 days to discuss with his counterpart about the war in Russia.

The Minister of Defense is going to George just a few days after a very important meeting of the counterpart ministers from the countries that are part of NATO, and below is part of the announcement made following this meeting, the allied countries wanting to substantially increase their collaboration during following because of the Russian threat.

"At the invitation of the Minister of Defense of Georgia, Mr. Juansher Burchuladze, I am today and tomorrow in Tbilisi. Discussions with my Georgian counterpart will include issues related to the security situation in the Black Sea region in the context of the war of aggression launched by the Russian Federation in Ukraine, but we will also analyze together the state of bilateral cooperation relations in the military field and in the context of regional and international bodies which includes Romania and Georgia.

Later on Tuesday I will have a meeting with the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Garibashvili, and attend a wreath-laying ceremony at the Memorial to the Georgian soldiers who fell in the fighting in Abkhazia in 1993.

We are committed to continuing the implementation of the decisions of the Madrid NATO Summit on strengthening NATO's deterrence and defense posture on the Eastern Flank, from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea, as well as its long-term adaptation.

We rely on the Allies to continue to implement their commitments and to contribute robust, highly operational additional forces on the Eastern Flank that can be scaled from existing battle group to brigade level as needed, supported by credible and rapidly deployable reinforcement forces with pre-positioned equipment and strengthened command and control capability.

The operationalization of the new Battle Groups remains a major priority, in order to ensure a credible, coherent and integrated allied posture. The transatlantic link remains indispensable for strengthening a credible deterrence and defense posture."
