Between October 03-14, the multinational exercise SARMIS 22 / OLT 22 took place, planned and led by the 2nd Mountain Hunter Brigade "Sarmizegetusa, in which 1500 soldiers, using 240 technical means, trained in areas with an average altitude of 1600 meters. For the first time, the OLT training exercise of the 22st Mountain Hunter Brigade "General Virgil Bădulescu" was connected to SARMIS 61.

For two weeks, in the Brădet-Grohotiș-Trăisteni-Valea Doftanei area, the Mountain Hunters of the 2nd "Sarmizegetusa" Brigade were joined by structures from the 2nd Battalion Royal Gurka Rifles, the 26th Infantry Regiment "Blue Spaders" from the 101st Airborne Division , the 317th ISR "Vlădeasa" Regiment (gathering information, surveillance and research) and were supported by elements of the Romanian Air Force, together with the 61st Mountain Hunter Brigade "General Virgil Bădulescu".

As a novelty, the operational medical support structure staffed with medical personnel of the "Regina Maria" Military Emergency Hospital in Brașov, was deployed in Brădet district during the entire exercise and acted in support of the mountain hunter brigade.

Helicopters from the 71st Air Base in Câmpa Turzii and the 90th Air Transport Base in Otopeni provided the necessary framework both for the training on boarding and disembarking from the aircraft, as well as for the introduction into combat, by air, of a returning detachment.

Another novelty was the transportation of some 120 mm artillery pieces by air and placing them in a firing position on top of the mountain.

The penultimate day of the exercise was dedicated to sports and military activities in which representative teams of the Romanian, British and American structures took part.

The closing ceremony of the exercise took place on Thursday, October 13, at the headquarters of the 2nd Mountain Hunter Brigade in Brașov.
