Minister of Defense: LAST TIME, Announcements for Romanians after the Official Appointment

Minister of Defense LAST TIME Romanian Announcements Official Appointment

The Minister of Defense newly appointed by the President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, talks about his priorities at the beginning of his mandate while a war is taking place on the eastern border of our country that started more than 8 months ago, and still seems to be extremely far from the end, unfortunately.

The Minister of Defense talks below about what is important for Romania at the moment, and what he intends to do in the near future, so we will see how many of the things we are told at the moment will turn into reality in basis of prepared decisions.

"If the proposal will be validated, then the first thing I will do will be to have a discussion vis-à-vis the things I am going to do, or the things that have gone well in the ministry, with Mr. Senator From. I am a parliamentarian, I am a senator, at the same time I was a member of the Romanian delegation to the NATO parliamentary assembly, a delegation that I lead.

My colleague's decision is one with a strong personal burden, I understand to respect this, and that's how I proceeded (ed. I ask what kind of relationship he will have with Klaus Iohannis) every time there were similar situations. Certainly, if the lord sees fit to detail to me the reasons for which he resigned, I will have this discussion with him.

My relationship with Mr. Vasile Dincu is a friendly one. Regarding his lordship's motivations, apart from what he said in the public space, I would do nothing but speculate, and I don't want that. My relationship as a minister with Klaus Iohannis is clearly specified by the law, and I will respect the law, hoping for a very good collaboration, because it is in everyone's interest.

At the moment we are having this discussion, in the east of Romania there is a security situation caused by the invasion of a sovereign state by Putin's Russia, an unprovoked and unjustified invasion, this is the main concern we have at the moment, from the desire that we have to keep the citizens of this country in an atmosphere of calm, normality, to be able to carry out their activities in a peaceful, fair and normal way.

On the other hand, I would like us not to forget that at the moment we are discussing now, there are Romanians, Romanian soldiers, who are either under the auspices of NATO, the European Union, the UN, or in coalition format, which carry out their activities aimed at keep the peace in different areas of the world, and they are just as important to us."
