The Minister of Health also announced that starting from December 1, 2022, the list of medicines benefiting from compensation will be expanded, a Government Decision being adopted in this regard, and separately there is also talk about new vaccines that have already reached the Health Departments Public from Romania.

"As a result of the information appearing in the public space about possible illegalities registered in the activity of the National Institute of Recovery, Physical Medicine and Balneoclimatology in Bucharest, we make the following clarifications:

In accordance with the legal provisions that regulate the activity carried out in the public health system, every time the Ministry of Health was informed or found a violation of ethics and integrity rules, it collaborated with the competent institutions to resolve these situations.

At the request of the Ministry of Health, the Government of Romania approved today, November 2, 2022, the draft Decision on the amendment and completion of the annex to Government Decision no. 720/2008 for the approval of the List containing the international common names corresponding to the medicines from which the insured benefit, with or without a personal contribution, based on medical prescription, in the social health insurance system, as well as the international common names corresponding to the medicines granted within the programs national health.

The update of the list of free and compensated drugs foresees the introduction of 21 new molecules intended for patients with oncological diseases, Parkinson's disease, heart failure, endocrine and metabolic diseases, chronic lung diseases, hereditary angioedema and spinal muscular amyotrophy. Most of the newly introduced drugs in the list, respectively 8, are intended for patients with oncological conditions. This update of the list, the third this year, is part of the current policy supported by the Ministry of Health to increase faster access to innovative medicines. The update of the list of compensated and free drugs comes into force on December 1, 2022.

Today, November 01, 2022, the delivery of 178.000 doses of pneumococcal vaccine to the Public Health Directorates began. The entire amount of vaccine will be delivered by Friday, November 04. The pneumococcal vaccine is given at 2, 4 and 11 months. The 130.000 doses of hepatitis B vaccine contracted at the beginning of October will be delivered in mid-November."
