Russia could be preparing an intensification of the offensive it is running in the Donetsk region at the moment, and this is because the troops withdrawn from Kherson could be used to conquer new territories where the Ukrainian army is not concentrated to the same extent big right now.
Russia would intend to force Ukraine to move military forces from the Kherson region to Donetsk in order not to advance as much as it has done so far, something that could generate very intense fighting in the coming weeks and months , on the Ukrainian front.

According to ISW, Ukrainian forces in the Donetsk region "will find themselves hard pressed" and Ukraine will likely have to redeploy some troops to defend against these offensive operations.
"The Russians are unlikely to make significant operational gains despite their renewed efforts, although they could probably take Bakhmut in time at enormous cost," ISW writes.
