Minister of Education: LAST TIME, Decision of Major Importance for Schools and Students in Romania

The Minister of Education LAST TIME Important Decision Major Romanian Student Schools

The Minister of Education has officially announced a last-minute decision that is of major importance for students and schools all over Romania, and it is because we are talking about measures that will have an impact in educational units all over the country, with the universities at the center, digitization, and not only that.

The Minister of Education explains below what sums of money are allocated to ensure students and teaching staff access to the latest specialist literature, and not only that, everything being thought to offer current students, and students who will become students, the best learning experiences.

"Since the beginning of my mandate as minister of education, I have declared that I will give maximum importance to the consolidation of an ethical climate in the academic environment in Romania. As proof, we are launching today, in public consultation, the Guide on "Digitalization of university ethics management", financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

We are allocating €22 million to provide students and teachers with, among other things, access to cutting-edge literature and scientific research integrity guides, exclusively in digital format. We want students and graduates who study in universities with a strong organizational culture of integrity and who understand the importance of ethical standards. In turn, teachers need adequate resources to impart knowledge and build the skills that students so desperately need.

Through the Guide released today for public consultation, we invest in achieving this goal. The Ministry of Education, as the coordinator of reforms and investments financed by the National Plan for Reform and Resilience (PNRR), is launching for public consultation the Applicant's Guide related to the Digitalization of University Ethics Management call, a call for projects that will be financed by the National Plan for Recovery and Resilience – Component C15: Education.

The applicant's guide was developed by the Ministry of Education for accredited or provisionally authorized public and private universities, as well as for other institutions organizing doctoral studies, which wish to obtain European funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (approved by Decision 2021/0309 of implementation of the Council of November 3, 2021 approving the evaluation of Romania's Recovery and Resilience Plan) for projects to digitize the educational process in universities.

The objective of the call is the improvement of the digital infrastructure in the field of ethics and academic integrity, as well as the development of advanced digital skills among students and PhD students regarding research and the acquisition of ethical conduct. Within this call for projects, eligible applicants are state or private higher education institutions, accredited or provisionally authorized, as well as other institutions organizing doctoral studies."
