iPhone 14 Saved the Lives of 2 People Following a Road Accident Calling the Emergency Services via Satellite

iPhone 14 saved the lives of two people involved in a road accident in the US after the new satellite emergency calling function was activated automatically after the phone detected that the car they were in fell into a ravine from the side of a public road.

iOS 16 has implemented a system that uses the sensors of iPhone phones to detect if we are involved in a road accident, and automatically calls the emergency services, which happened, so that the American authorities were called by satellite automatically by the phone for to save them from the 100 meters deep abyss.

"According to law enforcement and first responders, a car with two passengers went off the Angeles Forest Highway in the Angeles National Forest and plunged 300 feet into the canyon. One of the passengers' iPhone 14 recorded this crash thanks to the new crash detection feature.

In the canyon, passengers had no cell phone service, which is where Emergency SOS by satellite comes into the equation. After the iPhone 14 recorded the crash, the iPhone 14's satellite connectivity feature was activated to connect victims to first responders. The iPhone 14 was connected to one of Apple's new relay centers, and that relay center then communicated the status of first responders."
