The Minister of Health WARNS what is happening to Medicines in all of Romania

The Minister of Health WARNS that Medicines are happening all over Romania

The Minister of Health has issued an extremely serious warning that no Romanian should ignore, and this is because it brings to our immediate attention the fact that in the next period it is expected that the prices for some medicines, which are sold in Romania, will grow, maybe even substantially.

The Minister of Health explains below what exactly is at the basis of these increases expected even by the Romanian Government, and this is because inflation plays an extremely important role, as well as the legislative measures that were taken to return some of the missing medicines to pharmacies all over the country.

"We must understand that the fair price of a drug is the price that covers the production costs, which makes the clawback bearable, because it is a tax that the producers pay depending on the general consumption of compensated and free drugs, but it must let's also take into account the economic and energy crisis, because this has greatly affected the production capacities in Romania.

There are medicines, we were talking with one of the producers today, which are sold at a loss, that is, the medicine costs more than the money they receive. And then, drawing a line, there are several measures: one we took, we eliminated the reference price for molecules that do not exist on the market, so the reference price no longer exists, because it was given by a product that no longer exists on the market the market, and this is already in force.

We will also see how we do, we also discussed with the National Health Insurance House so that this increase in prices generated by inflation is covered at least on the inflation side, and we are continuing the discussions regarding a new price policy that will no longer leads to the disappearance of medicines from the market.

This pricing policy will lead to an increase in prices, it is a reality. There are no estimates in percentages, because there are thousands of products, and each category must be judged separately, and where there are many products, where there is competition, where there is price control at the manufacturer, it is a situation, but where I have one , or two, is another situation.

The price change will occur in stages, from my point of view, there are the conditions generated by inflation, but the price policy that led to the disappearance of many medicines from the market in the last 10 years, we had the policy of the lowest price, yes I am agree with her if the product exists on the market, but if the price is the lowest and the medicines disappear, then there is a problem."
