The Minister of Health is again talking to millions of Romanians about the extremely serious measures that are officially taken at the government level for millions of people from all over the country, and this is because we are talking about the investments in the dozens of hospitals that are to be made with the money from the PNRR during the following years.
The Minister of Health explains below, to a certain extent, how everything is thought by the authorities, and how the selection of some of the units for which funding is requested would be made, especially since almost 2 billion euros are available through the PNRR for investments in better hospitals for all Romanians in the country.
"We have foreseen in this year's budget important sums of money that can be drawn by the applicants. Anyway, the qualification is possible if a sanitary unit had at least the feasibility study, but some had more than that, they have a technical project, all the approvals. I will tell you some of the projects from the list of 27 that seem relevant to me.
The Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases CC Iliescu, which I think the whole country knows, and which operates in an old, irreparable building, and then also there at the Fundeni Institute, because it shares the courtyard, space was found for another building. The Oncology Institute from Timisoara is also on the list, it also seems to me an extremely important objective.
We have regionalization in Cluj, in Iasi, in Bucharest, and in the west of the country there was a need for such an institute. We have important objectives in less developed counties in terms of resources or medical infrastructure, we have such an investment in Vaslui. We hope in Bacau to complete a body of building that has been started for a long time, and which is the subject of a dispute between the town hall and the county council, or in Bistrita and Arad.
The list is public, anyway and the other objectives, there are others in the list of 42 included in the evaluation, and they are not excluded in any way, but are on a reserve list. If one of the objectives that are on the list gives up, the next, or the following, enters, because there are large differences between the amounts requested for financing, and the reserve list can be taken into account for financing from other sources.
In the area of infrastructure for hospital medical care, through a loan from the EIB, other major objectives will be completed, so that we can succeed at the national level, and I want this to be a philosophy that will be applied with responsibility and honesty by everyone, reducing the gap between access to medical services between patients from different regions of the country."
