The Minister of Education has officially announced explanations for a series of very important decisions that have been taken for students in all Romanian schools, decisions that millions of children and parents across the country must know about, and this is because he details below what they are the modules of the new school year 2023-2024.
The Minister of Education also talks about what is happening in terms of the holidays that students from all over the country will actually enjoy, and this is because not all of them are fixed, some being established at the regional level by the regional and local authorities , so it is good to know what is happening from this point of view.
"The 2023-2024 school year is structured, by course intervals (modules) and vacation intervals, as follows: Courses - from Monday, September 11, 2023 to Friday, October 27, 2023. Vacation - from Saturday, October 28, 2023 to Sunday, 5 November 2023. Classes - from Monday, November 6, 2023 to Friday, December 22, 2023. Holiday - from Saturday, December 23, 2023 to Sunday, January 7, 2024.
Courses - from Monday, January 8, 2024 - until Friday, February 9, 2024, respectively Friday, February 16, 2024 or Friday, February 23, 2024, as the case may be, at the decision of the county school inspectorates/Bucharest municipality, following consultations with the primary beneficiaries of education , with their parents/legal representatives and teachers, carried out at the level of educational units. Vacation – one week, at the decision of the county/municipality school inspectorates of Bucharest, between February 12 and March 3, 2024.
Courses - from Monday, February 19, 2024, respectively Monday, February 26, 2024 or Monday, March 4, 2024, at the decision of the county school inspectorates/Bucharest municipality, as the case may be, until Friday, April 12, 2024. Holiday - from Saturday, April 13, 2024 until Sunday, April 21, 2024.Classes - from Monday, April 22, 2024 to Friday, June 21, 2024. Holiday - from Saturday, June 22, 2024 to Sunday, September 8, 2024. No classes are held on October 5 – International Education Day and on non-working days/legal holidays provided by law and the applicable collective labor agreement.
The national program "School differently" and the "Green Week" program take place between September 11, 2023 and April 12, 2024, in intervals of 5 consecutive working days, the planning of which is at the decision of the educational unit. The running of the two programs is planned in different course intervals (modules), except for the last course interval (module). As an exception to the provisions of para. (1), in classes in high school education - the technological branch, in vocational education and in post-high school education.
During the periods dedicated to the "Different School" and "Green Week" programs, practical training activities are organized. In the case of suspension of courses according to the framework Regulation for the organization and operation of pre-university education units, approved by the Order of the Minister of Education and Research no. 4183/2022, the measures regarding the full completion of the school program through alternative methods established by the board of administration of the educational unit are not available during the school holidays."
