The last-minute code orange weather warnings that ANM, the National Meteorological Administration, issued for Romania bring to our immediate attention a series of weather phenomena affecting several areas of our country, they being categorized as having and code yellow.

ANM has issued an orange blizzard code with wind speeds that can reach 100 km/h, but also yellow codes for winds up to 90 km/h, significant amounts of snow, there is a possibility that the snow will be blown away, so that it is recommended to be careful.

CODE YELLOW WEATHER WARNING!

Targeted phenomena and affected areas: blizzard and quantitatively moderate snow in the mountains.

Validity period: February 04, 11 a.m. – February 05, 20 p.m.

In the mountains it will snow moderately quantitatively, the wind will increase with gusts, generally of 50...70 km/h, and at altitudes above 1800 m it will exceed 80...90 km/h. Temporarily there will be blizzard and low visibility. In the Southern and Western Carpathians, a consistent layer of snow will be deposited, locally over 20...25 cm.

Note: In the Southern and Curvature Carpathians, the wind will continue to intensify during the night of Sunday to Monday (February 5/6).

From Sunday (February 5) the weather will enter a cooling process and will become frosty at night, especially in the intra-Carpathian regions.

Targeted phenomena and affected areas: strong blizzard in the Southern Carpathians above 1800 m altitude.

Validity period: February 04, 20 a.m. – February 05, 20 p.m.

At altitudes above 1800 m, in the Southern Carpathians, there will be intervals with strong blizzards (gusts above 90...100 km/h) and very low visibility.

Targeted phenomena and affected areas: wind intensifications in Banat, Crișana and the western half of Transylvania.

Validity period: February 04, 11 a.m. – February 05, 06 p.m.

In the targeted area, the wind will intensify with speeds, in general, of 50...70 km/h, and in the west and south-west of Transylvania there will be periods when gusts will be associated with quantitatively moderate snowfalls causing the appearance of blizzards.

Note: It will temporarily snow and there will be wind intensifications in the rest of the territory, but in smaller areas and at a lower intensity.

Affected areas and targeted phenomena: the southern half of Moldova, the eastern half of Muntenia and Dobrogea, wind intensifications, blizzard periods and snow transport;

Validity period: February 04, 20 a.m. – February 05, 20 p.m.

In the southern half of Moldova, the eastern half of Muntenia and Dobrogea there will be intensification of the wind, with gusts, in general, of 50...70 km/h, so the snow will be scattered. Especially on the night of Saturday to Sunday (February 4/5) it will snow and there will be periods of blizzard and reduced visibility.

ORANGE CODE!

Affected areas and targeted phenomena: sustained intensification of wind and blizzard on the coast.

Validity period: February 05, 02 a.m. – February 05, 20 p.m.

On the coast, it will temporarily snow, and the wind will have sustained intensifications, with speeds of 70...80 km/h, so the snow will be blizzards, scattered snow and reduced visibility, more pronounced in the Constanța county area.

Note: Winds will continue to increase overnight Sunday into Monday (February 5/6).
