The Minister of Defense makes 2 last-minute announcements that are extremely important for Romania, and this is because, first of all, he talks about the fact that during this day he had a meeting with the ambassador of Luxembourg in Bucharest, and discussed cooperation within NATO , but not only that.

The Minister of Defense also approved the submission to public consultation of a normative act that would allow the inclusion of civilian personnel from their own institutions to special and special working conditions, and below you have all the details regarding the changes that would be brought at a legal level in Romania thanks to him.

"Today, I had a meeting with the ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Bucharest, Mrs. Elisabeth Cardoso. The meeting took place in the context of the deployment of the first Luxembourg contingent within the NATO Battle Group, coordinated by France, in Romania. The Grand Duchy's contribution to strengthening the Allied posture on the Eastern flank and especially in the Black Sea region is proof of Allied solidarity and unity.

We also discussed cooperation within NATO and the security situation in the Black Sea region, in the context of Russia's war of aggression in Ukraine. It is important to support vulnerable partners in the region, especially the Republic of Moldova, in the current security context. The Ambassador of Luxembourg highlighted his country's commitment and indicated that this is the largest contingent deployed outside Luxembourg's borders.

The Ministry of National Defense submits to public consultation a normative act initiated and elaborated by the institutions of defense, public order and national security, in order to create the normative framework that allows the work of civilian personnel from their own institutions to be framed in special and special working conditions.

Concretely, the legislative proposal aims to create the right of civilian personnel working in defense, public order and national security institutions to reduce the period of contributions to the public pension system made under special conditions or under special conditions, by granting additional periods to the calculation length of service, with a view to retirement, according to the provisions applicable to military personnel, respectively policemen.

The adoption of this legislative initiative will directly contribute to the increase of the professional performance of civilian personnel who carry out activities together and under the same conditions as military personnel and policemen, through a motivation corresponding to the requirements imposed by the workplace and the activities carried out in defense institutions.
