WhatsApp, the messaging platform with over 2 billion active users worldwide, has published an official announcement for Android phone users, and through it, it also reveals a very important secret function that many people did not know about, but which can be extremely useful for many people.
WhatsApp explains below how we can block the saving of pictures and videos in Android phones, something that many people know, but separately from that it also reveals to us how we can hide pictures and videos in phones, without them appearing in the multimedia library accessible through the standard phone application.
You can see below that WhatsApp Messenger recommends creating a .nomedia file in the application's images folder to hide everything that is there, so that nothing can be accessed from outside the application, so it will not become visible to absolutely anyone if the messaging application is not accessed.
WhatsApp Messenger explains on its website how we can benefit from this secret function to hide pictures and videos from the multimedia library of Android phones, but also how we can return everything to normal, the procedure itself being as simple as possible, so anyone can take advantage of it.
Alternatively, you can create a .nomedia file in your WhatsApp images folder. Please note that this will hide all your WhatsApp photos from your phone gallery. If you want to view the photos in your phone gallery later, simply delete the .nomedia file.
When you download a media file, it will be automatically saved to your phone's gallery. The media visibility option is enabled by default. This feature only affects new environments that are downloaded once the feature has been enabled or disabled and does not apply to old environments.
