Sea Shield 23 is a new multinational exercise officially announced by the Romanian Army for all those interested in what kind of military exercises the Romanian military participates in, taking place under the coordination of the Romanian Naval Forces.

The multinational exercise "Sea Shield 23", organized and led by the Romanian Naval Forces, is based on a fictitious scenario of a Crisis Response Operation, in a complex geopolitical context.

Part of the sequences of Exercise "Sea Shield 23" aims to develop interoperability between the military of the Romanian Naval Forces and the personnel of other structures that are part of the defense system, public order and national security, in accordance with the inter-institutional cooperation plans for the management of situations of crisis.

In this sense, joint trainings were planned for the defense of the critical infrastructure, which Romania has in the Black Sea, trainings for the evacuation of the civilian population from the Danube Delta area and from the coastal area, trainings for the management of migrant flows in the maritime area of responsibility as well as sea search and rescue and medical evacuation training.

On Tuesday, March 21, a sequence was held to defend the critical infrastructure in the Black Sea, in the area of ​​maritime oil platforms, in which the frigate "King Ferdinand", the minesweeper 274, a Puma Naval helicopter, as well as structures from the Ministry Internal Affairs, SRI, IGSU, ARSVOM, OMV PETROM, BLACK SEA OIL & GAS.

The "Sea Shield 23" exercise continues to take place, both in the maritime area and in the Danube Delta and in the area of ​​the Romanian coast from the Black Sea.
