The Minister of Health published a last-minute decision regarding medicine, and doctors, from all over Romania, and this because he officially announced that the ministry he leads is going to organize on May 14, 2023 a new admission competition in residency for the positions that remained unfilled.

The Minister of Health signed an order in this sense, so that this competition will be organized in an extraordinary session by the Romanian authorities, the aim being to fill all the positions that in the case of the previous sessions were left unfilled by doctors, so that it will be important to see how much they will do.

"On May 14, 2023, the Ministry of Health organizes a residency admission competition, extraordinary session, for the field of medicine for the positions and places left unoccupied in the November 20, 2022 session. The competition is held only in the Bucharest university center. For the organization and conduct of the competition, the Ministry of Health will conclude a contract with the "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy from Bucharest, on the basis of which both the obligations and responsibilities of the parties are established, as well as the amounts caused by the organization and conduct expenses, borne from the registration fee contest entry.

 The categories of expenses related to the activities caused by the organization and conduct of the residency admission competition, which can be settled/allocated from own revenues for this purpose, managed by the Ministry of Health, as well as the model of the service contract concluded with the "Carol" University of Medicine and Pharmacy Davila" from Bucharest are approved by order of the Minister of Health.

The units and specialties for which the residency admission competition is organized are approved by order of the Minister of Health. The tuition fee is approved by order of the Minister of Health. For the organization of the residency admission competition, a central residency commission is appointed, made up of representatives of the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education and the universities of medicine and pharmacy in Romania, approved by joint order of the Minister of Education and the Minister of Health.

 The rector of the "Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest approves by decision the establishment of the local competition committee for the Bucharest university center. The local competition commission is formed by the president and a number of 4-6 members, including a representative of the Public Health Directorate of the Municipality of Bucharest. The nomination of people will take into account possible incompatibilities.

The entire responsibility regarding the organization and conduct of the competition, the compilation of classifications and the selection of places/posts belongs to the Central Residency Commission. Communication between the members of the central commission, as well as between the central commission and the local commission, can be done by any means (telephone, fax, e-mail, e-conference, etc.), only under the conditions of confirmation of receipt of the correspondence by the parties involved."
