In the last 24 hours, the staff of the Ministry of Internal Affairs intervened in 3.552 events, 2.148 of which were circumscribed to the maintenance of public order, and 1.404 circumscribed to emergency situations.

The traffic police acted, at the level of the entire country, to increase the degree of road safety. As a result of the actions in the field, 233 registration certificates were withdrawn and 439 driver's licenses were withheld, of which 24 were for alcohol consumption and 4 for the consumption of drugs or other prohibited substances.

At the level of the police structures, 736 possible crimes were reported, over 36% of which were ex officio. At the same time, the public order teams made up of policemen and gendarmes caught 104 criminals in the act, who committed 113 criminal acts, and preventive measures were ordered against 127 people.

Yesterday, 26 nationally or internationally wanted persons were detected, against whom legal measures were ordered. The police and gendarmes found 7.131 contraventions for which they imposed fines in the amount of over 2,4 million lei.

For their part, the firemen carried out 200 checks on the line of emergency prevention, and 29 objectives were identified that were operating without a fire safety permit. 817 contraventional sanctions were applied, totaling 536.000 lei.

During the last 24 hours, firefighters carried out 1.151 missions to provide emergency medical assistance, 39 to extinguish fires and 8 to extricate. During the firefighters' interventions, 62 people were saved.

Also, the police officers on duty rescued a person in a critical situation. The pilots of the General Aviation Inspectorate performed 18 aero-medical missions, saving 17 people in emergency situations.

In the last 24 hours, no Ukrainian citizen has applied for asylum in our country. Since the start of the conflict in Ukraine, 4.405 Ukrainian citizens have applied for asylum in Romania. They benefit from all the rights provided by national legislation.

At the same time, from 18.03.2022 until now, 129.997 residence permits have been issued for beneficiaries of temporary protection, 271 residence permits being granted in the last 24 hours.

At this moment, the occupancy rate of the accommodation centers of the General Inspectorate for Immigration is 47,7%. As for the traffic through the border crossing points, in the last 24 hours, 20.992 means of transport and 79.976 people entered our country, of which 8.429 were Ukrainian citizens.
