The Romanian Army participates in the ADRIATIC STRIKE 23 Multinational Exercise

The Romanian Army officially announces its participation in the multinational exercise ADRIATIC STRIKE 23, one of great importance for the Romanian Air Force, which represents our country with multiple aircraft, between June 2 and 9 of this year.

Between June 2-9, 2023, a detachment of 33 soldiers and two IAR-330 SOCAT helicopters from the 95th Air Base in Bacău is participating in the "ADRIATIC STRIKE 23" exercise, which takes place in the Cerklje Air Base in Slovenia.

The objective of the multinational exercise is to strengthen the techniques for the execution of close air support missions, to improve the training of the detachment's crews in order to be able to fulfill their missions in the national framework and as a NATO response force, and to achieve the exchange of experience regarding techniques and procedures.

The 95th Air Base Detachment will execute Close Air Support (CAS) missions, under the coordination of Allied Tactical Air Control (TACP) teams, with live fire at the Pocek training ground, with the horse-mounted gun. 20mm and with unguided reactive projectiles (PRND) cal. 57mm, day and night.

About 800 participants from 30 countries are involved in this multinational exercise, hosted for the eleventh consecutive year by Slovenia.
