Minister of Defense New Announcements LAST TIME IMPORTANT Information All Romanians

The Minister of Defense transmits through new last-minute announcements a series of very important information, about which extremely many Romanians should know, and this is because Angel Tîlvăr is speaking in the first phase about the meeting in Tulcea with the US Ambassador to Romania, but also the local authorities.

The Minister of Defense also sent his Secretary of State for Defense Policy, Planning and International Relations to a meeting with the Black Sea Task Force delegation, Angel Tîlvăr not being present, but below you can see what was discussed during this meeting, which can have a big impact for Romania.

"Together with the US ambassador to Bucharest, Mrs. Kathleen Ann Kavalec, I participated, today, in a meeting with the authorities from Tulcea county. The discussions focused on the support that our country provides to Ukraine since the beginning of the war of aggression started by the Russian Federation. I congratulated the authorities of Tulcea county for the exemplary way in which they managed to manage the crisis on the border with Ukraine, especially since almost 24 refugees passed through the Isaccea border point after February 2022, 500.000.

The Secretary of State for Defense Policy, Planning and International Relations, Simona Cojocaru, had a meeting with the Black Sea Task Force delegation on Wednesday, June 7, at the MApN headquarters. The group is made up of experts from the Transatlantic Security Initiative program of the Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security, Atlantic Council and from the National School of Political and Administrative Studies in Bucharest.

The discussion agenda included topics such as the security situation in the Black Sea region in the context of the Russian Federation's war of aggression in Ukraine, efforts to modernize the army, as well as Romania's priorities in view of the NATO Summit in Vilnius. The Secretary of State highlighted the way in which Romania, at the level of defense policy, relates to the strategic importance of the Black Sea region.

This being an extremely important objective for transatlantic security. The Romanian official emphasized that understanding the challenges generated by the extremely volatile security context and how to approach them is a priority for regional stability and requires a consolidated collaboration with allies and partners.

Secretary of State Cojocaru appreciated the efforts of the US administration to develop a US Security Strategy for the Black Sea, pointing out the importance of the steps taken at the level of Congress. In this context, it highlighted the importance of the effort of the Atlantic Council's group of experts to learn, through a field visit, the security realities in the region, through direct interactions with the responsible factors in Romania."
