BCR Romania, one of the main financial institutions active in Romania at the moment and has a very large number of clients at the local level, decided to warn everyone. He does it in relation to what he has to do to protect his bank cards against those who want to steal them, and there are many who want to do that.
BCR Romania explains below what we must do to make sure that no one can harm us by stealing our bank data, especially those related to cards. The advice coming from the bank now is meant to show us that it wants to protect us, but they must be seen as something that must be respected.
The information that comes from BCR regarding card security applies to any kind of card, from any of the banks in Romania, so you can use them however you want. It is important, however, not to ignore the information, because it could be of great use to you in protecting your money.
Protecting bank cards against money theft
BCR provides this information because it can help clients keep their money safe, especially since sometimes it is impossible to recover any amount of money that has been stolen. On the bank's website there are several types of similar information about how we can protect ourselves effectively, and it is good to look carefully at all of them.
Sign the card on the back in the frame reserved for this purpose, when receiving it, using a ballpoint pen; Destroy the envelope containing the PIN code received from the bank after memorizing it; NEVER write the PIN code on the back of the card; DO NOT enter your PIN on websites and do not disclose it over the phone.
Manually protect the entry of the PIN code in any situation in which you carry out transactions; Keep the card carefully and do not disclose the specific identification information (card number, expiration date, name, etc.) to other people, even if they are or present themselves as employees of the Bank; NEVER respond to messages received via SMS / e-mail requesting personal data (card number, card expiry date, PIN code).
