Marcel Ciolacu Announces the Priorities of the Romanian Government for the Next Period

Marcel Ciolacu announces the priorities of the Romanian Government for the next period, and this is because we are talking about decisions based on the intention to maintain energy and food prices at values that are bearable for Romanians throughout the country.

Marcel Ciolacu also wants a reorganization of ANAF, so that the institution collects much better revenues to the budget, so that there is money for investments, the payment of budget employees' salaries and not only that.

"Returning to the priorities of the moment, I inform you that the main effort will be, in the next two weeks, to improve the mechanisms that keep the prices of energy, gas and basic food under control.

We have seen that inflation is back on a downward trajectory, and the National Bank of Romania predicts that it will reach below 5% by the end of the year. Our goal is that, in addition to these mechanisms, we continue to invest in Romanian production and bring as many local products as possible, at fair prices, to stores.

Another major priority is the reorganization of ANAF, in order to increase the efficiency of the collection of budget revenues. There is a need for integrated coordination and, above all, a clear vision in the action to combat tax fraud and evasion. We committed together to modernize and digitize the Treasury, after 32 years of waiting to ensure better services for all citizens."
