The Romanian government has officially announced the establishment of the National Register of Contact Data, and this is because thanks to it, the contact information of public authorities and institutions in Romania will be easier to access by anyone who is willing to do so.
The executive today approved the decision on the establishment and administration of the National Register of Contact Data (RNDC). The normative act was developed by the General Secretariat of the Government (SGG), in collaboration with the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitization, in its capacity as state authority in the fields of information technology, information society and the national interoperability framework.
The register brings increased transparency to public administration, allowing citizens, businesses and other interested parties to easily and quickly access the contact information of public authorities and institutions.
The centralization of contact data will facilitate communication and collaboration between different authorities and public institutions, eliminate the need for citizens to search for information on different platforms or sites, and eliminate the administrative burden of separately interacting with the IT systems of various authorities and public institutions .

Online platforms, be they brokerage services or search engines, are essential in the context of digitization and the need for quick access to information from a secure and single source. The establishment of a basic register, in the context of interoperability, is an important step to ensure the efficient exchange of information between different institutions and their IT systems. Romania will thus align with the rigors and European directives regarding the easy, digital and universal access of citizens to the information managed by state institutions".
The technical support of the contact.gov.ro platform will be provided by the specialized structure within the General Secretariat of the Government.
