The Ministry of Defense has published a series of very important, last-minute official announcements regarding the soldiers' actions for Romania, the first regarding the military exercises of the 280th Mechanized Infantry Battalion, in Smardan, in order to maintain its fighting capacity at a high level, in the context the war in Ukraine.
The Ministry of Defense also talks about the exercises of the Air Defense Detachment from Poland, but also about the school practice at Base 90 Otopeni, plus the important meetings of the General Staff of the Romanian Air Forces with the Space Command representatives, who came to Romania in March.
"Soldiers from the 280th Mechanized Infantry "Captain Valter Mărăcineanu" Battalions, 285th "Vlaicu Vodă" Artillery and 284th "Cuza Vodă" Tanks executed a platoon-level live firing exercise (LFX). The activity, in which a helicopter of the 95th Air Base "Erou Căpitan Aviator Alexandru Şerbănescu" also participated, took place at the Secondary Combat Training Center Smârdan.
Soldiers of the Air Defense Detachment XIV Rotation continue their training in the training grounds in Poland. During this period, they carried out shooting sessions with individual weapons at night, with the aim of training in identifying and neutralizing targets in low visibility conditions. During the period 11 - 22.03.2024, at Base 90 Air Transport Otopeni "Commander aviator Gheorghe Bănciulescu" the specialized school practice for the initial training of nine students is taking place.
Future military majors in the Communications, Information Technology and Cyber Defense Army from the Military School of Military Majors and Non-Commissioned Officers for Communications, Information Technology and Cyber Defense in Sibiu. Together with the communications specialists from Base 90, the students learned that practice underpins what you learn, thus developing professional communication skills and skills for the installation, configuration and operation of equipment and communication and IT techniques specific to an air base.
In March, the representatives of the General Staff of the Air Force within the Service of Regulations, Intelligence, Integration of Operations and Cooperation in the Space Operational Domain, participated in a working group together with the American delegation of the US Space Command. The activity took place at the National Military Circle and represented a first for the Romanian Air Force, offering the opportunity to do an introspection regarding topics such as military communications.
