The Ministry of Defense officially talks about the last-minute official activities carried out by the Romanian military during this period, and this is because in the first phase we are told about the military exercises that took place in collaboration with the US army, but also about the international marathon competition in Portugal.

The Ministry of Defense also details the alpine instruction carried out by the Romanian divers on the territory of the country, they participated in a program that took place in the mountainous areas, everything being done in order to prepare the military for any kind of situations in which they might have to participate in real operations.

"Joint training Romania - USA! In the last 2 weeks, American soldiers from the 101st Airborne Division trained together with the research structures of the 2nd Mountain Hunter Brigade "Sarmizegetusa" during the winter training camp in the mountains, in the Diham district. The joint training activity contributed to the development of interoperability in terms of the techniques, tactics and procedures applied by the soldiers of the two armies.

Between March 22-24, in the Mafra/Torres Vedras region of Portugal, the second edition of the "Military Running Challenge" mountain marathon competition, organized under the auspices of the International Military Sports Council (CISM), took place, in which they participated military athletes from 6 CISM member countries (ROU, POR, GBR, FRA, CYP and ESP). The athletes of the Romanian Army prevailed in the men's, in the individual, where they won first place through lt. Mitrică Leonard and second place by plt. Maj. Damian Bogdan.

Also, the Romanian delegation ranked first in men's teams and third in women's teams. Courage, physical training, mental training, perseverance, isolated collective training in an alpine environment. This is what was discussed between 11.03 and 22.03.2024, in the Parâng mountains, at the teaching base "Virgil Teodorescu" belonging to the National University of Physical Education and Sport Bucharest.

This alpine training module was executed by combat divers from the Diver Training, Training and Training Course and by combat divers from the 175th Combat Diver Ship "Comandor Constantin Scarlat" Division. Awakening, brief equipping, refreshment, physical training in varied terrain, are just some of the activities that the fighters carried out.

The training program focused on ski instruction. The military learned how to behave in avalanche situations, the effective use of ski travel techniques, descent procedures, crossing bumps, breaks and slope connections on skis. All of these skills helped make the training march a success."
