The Minister of Education Two New Official Statements LAST MOMENT Measures Taken Teachers Students

The Minister of Education brings to the attention of all Romanians two new official statements of the last moment, Ligia Deca talking about the measures implemented for students and teachers in Romania, and this because she signed a contract in Miercurea Ciuc for the financing of a new dual education consortium.

The Minister of Education explains again below why these projects are very important for Romania, in order to improve the quality of education, separately bringing to attention a meeting of the UN group which aimed to support the teaching career and teachers, additional details are provided below.

"At the headquarters of the Ministry of Education, today, together with Mr. Korodi Attila, the mayor of Miercurea Ciuc Municipality, I signed the financing contract for the dual education consortium in the municipality! The project, which benefits from PNRR funding of over 96 million lei, represents an important step taken by the community in Harghita county to give young people the chance to develop the skills necessary for integration into the labor market.

Related to the specific needs of the area, implementing the full dual route, which will allow students to continue their specialized studies, including in higher education. The consortium consists of four administrative-territorial units, a university, four pre-university education units, eight economic operators who will provide practical training, as well as four other associations and will offer a wide range of specializations, such as: biotechnologies, environment, agro industry -food, automation, robotics, tourism.

We had the last online meeting of the High Level Group on Supporting Teachers and Teaching Careers, initiated by the United Nations. Over the past year, at meetings of this group, I have advocated for competitive salaries, thorough teacher training, and freeing them from excessive administrative burdens.

In line with these needs, the general recommendations formulated by the group for UN member countries are; increasing investment in teachers, promoting equity, diversity and inclusion. It is added to increase the status and dignity of the teaching profession, improve the quality of the teaching profession through initial training and throughout the career and support leadership in the teaching career.

I believe in these recommendations and will continue to promote them in the international forums I belong to! My activity in this high-level group is a continuation of the "Teachers, teaching and the teaching profession" panel that the President of Romania co-chaired in September 2022, within the Summit on the transformation of education, organized on the sidelines of the high-level segment of the of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly."
