Marcel Bolos LAST MINUTE Official Measures Adopted by the Government of Romania

Marcel Bolos officially announces the last-minute measures adopted by the Government of Romania for millions of Romanians throughout the country today, here is what the Minister of Finance says and how important the new measures are, which will be implemented in the next period

"2.28 billion lei for the revitalization of traditional industries! Are you an entrepreneur in the ceramics, metallurgy, computers, radiology industry? Manufacturing cars, motorcycles, bicycles? The textile industry, household appliances or furniture?

All these industries and many others are eligible to receive funding through the 2,25 billion lei state aid scheme for major investments that the Government adopted today.

We bet that through this allocation local entrepreneurs become catalysts of regional development. Moreover, it is a method by which we attract foreign investments and contribute to Romania's import/export balance, a large part of the production made following these investments being destined for export.

So, if you want to take your business to the next level with a minimum investment of 50 million lei, I leave you more details in the comments.

Also today I fulfilled a series of promises sent the other day:

  • The #RCA tariff cap is extended until June 30, 2024.
  • The e-Invoice fine-free period is extended until May 31, 2024.
  • We have indexed the allowances received by disabled war veterans sent to theaters of operations to the rate of inflation.

Here is a brief summary of the measures:

  • We are building the necessary legal framework for contracting loans by local public authorities, to be able to finish the unfinished projects from the 2014-2020 programming period. This is because currently the value of unfinished projects is approximately 600 million euros.
  • We are building the legal framework to allow the mayors to use the pre-financing granted until December 31, 2023 by the management authorities for the implementation of the projects. It is another form of helping the mayors to complete their projects with funding from European funds.
  • We are building the legal framework for the financing of projects from European funds that were left without a source of financing from the previous programming period.
  • We are unlocking refund requests worth over 15 billion lei, so that they can be sent to the European Commission and collected by Romania within the deadline provided by law.
  • We provide the money for the price adjustment to the contracts for the projects in #PNRR. Thus, we protect the 110 nurseries we have in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

There are measures that we promised we would adopt, in order to offer the mayors support in completing the projects from #Europeanmoney, being absolutely necessary for the settlement of the amounts already declared eligible within these projects. These projects are at a mature stage of implementation, and measures are necessary to ensure that they close successfully.

Beyond these, even today we approve a series of social measures.

I will return in a separate post to detail them, but I would point out that:

  • We unlock the National In Vitro Fertilization Program to be able to secure commitment credits worth 150 million lei.
  • We are extending the validity of energy cards until May 31, 2024. It is one of the most important social measures settled last year from European funds, benefiting 2,8 million homes. With 1,1 million beneficiaries still having money on their cards, it was vital that we take this decision so that the bill relief measure does not go to waste.

Finally, because the leitmotif of the last months was to take the necessary steps to generate investments with a multiplier effect in Romania, we should not overlook the fact that we have laid the foundations of the legal framework for the Romgaz group to be able to support major investments of national interest for increase the energy capacity, respectively to invest the profits made in the development phase of the Neptun Deep project - the largest natural gas project in the Romanian area of the Black Sea and the largest development project in the portfolio of the ROMGAZ group."
