The Minister of Health confirmed a series of last-minute official actions, which are meant to bring important changes in Romania, and this is because Alexandru Rafila discussed with the representatives of the US Department of Justice about the implementation of anti-corruption practices in the medical system of our country .
The Minister of Health details below what the implementation of these important measures means, but separately from that he also says that no money from European funds was lost for the construction of hospitals, or investments in other medical units in Romania, as was stated in the public space.
"Strict compliance with the legality of the use of external funds in partnership with the Department of Justice in the United States of America. The Minister of Health, university professor Dr. Alexandru Rafila and the Secretary of State Dr. Alexandru Rogobete had meetings with the representatives of the US Department of Justice in order to expand collaboration and implement good anti-corruption practices in the procedures applicable to projects with funding from external funds in the field of health.
Concrete cases were reviewed in which there are suspicions of corruption in the implementation of some projects, as well as ways to combat them legally. "I am happy about the partnership with the US Department of Justice that strengthens the capacity of the Ministry of Health to efficiently run the many investment and technical assistance programs financed from external funds.
Since the beginning of my mandate, fighting corruption in the healthcare system has been a priority, and the expertise of colleagues in the US brings a valuable contribution to the capabilities of the Ministry of Health to achieve this. Health in Romania and, implicitly, patients benefit in this way from the advantages of the strategic partnership with the USA", declared the Minister of Health, Prof. Dr. Alexandru Rafila.
In the next period, there will be technical meetings between representatives of the Ministry of Health, the Department of Justice and the FBI that will further support the workshops organized by the Ministry of Health throughout the country for best practices in public procurement.
