The Romanian Army brings to our immediate attention a series of last-minute official actions, very important for Romania in the midst of the war in Ukraine, carried out by soldiers and NATO, the first having at its center a transfer of authority to Poland for Transylvanian cheetahs, handing over their mission to their NATO colleagues.

"Transfer of authority between air defense detachments in Poland. The soldiers of the Air Defense Detachment, 14th rotation - "Transylvanian Cheetahs" handed over the mission within the NATO Battle Group to their colleagues from the Air Defense Detachment, 15th rotation - "Sky Guardians". During a military ceremony organized in the military base in Poland, the transfer of authority between the two Romanian contingents was carried out.
Among the officials present at this event were the Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Poland. His Excellency Cosmin Onisii and the military attaché of Romania in the Republic of Poland, Colonel Alin Done. The "Transylvanian Cheetahs" carried out, between October 2023 and April 2024, a series of joint training activities with American, British, Croatian and Polish soldiers.
They represented Romania within the NATO Battle Group with the aim of fulfilling the mission of ensuring the forward presence consolidated in the North-Eastern flank of the Alliance. The "Sky Guardians" Air Defense Detachment took over the mission, and in the next six months, they will carry out training activities within the NATO Battle Group. During this period, the soldiers of the 136th Geniu Battalion carry out activities prior to the CADET 2024 exercise by setting up two crossing points on the PJM 72, respectively PR 71 low metal bridge in the Perii Dăii training range. This is also an opportunity for the genius weapon students from the "Nicolae Bălcescu" Land Forces Academy to train together with the engineers from Alba Iulia.
The tankmen from the 9th Mechanized Brigade "Mărășești" performed a tactical exercise with combat firing in the Secondary Combat Training Center in Babadag. The training activities carried out during this week, together with the French partner, contributed to the strengthening of bilateral relations and the establishment of a common vision on the procedures, techniques and tactics applied at the level of the two armies.
